Summit County Property Tax Notices

Property Tax Notices to come out shortly…

In Colorado, County Assessors reappraise property in odd-numbered years, and your Notice of Valuation is due to be mailed out on May 1st.

The new valuation is based on property sales data for the two-year period from July, 2010 to June 30, 2012. The table below shows averages for your complex between these dates. This information covers all sales through the Summit County MLS System (this excludes private sales).

If you chose to appeal you have a short window of May 1 through June 1. The Assessor’s Office will then review your appeal and send you a Notice of Determination on June 30, which outlines the decision and your further appeal rights.

Appeals to valuation may be submitted to the assessor online, via e-mail, mail or in person.  For more information visit www.co.summit.co.us (Government tab, Assessor, Appeals).

Where can you get the most for your money in Summit County?

So we know we are in a buyer's market here in Summit County, but where are the deals within the deals? One area I encourage you to look at is Wildernest. It is a large neighborhood in Summit County just on the outskirts of The Town of Silverthorne. It’s wooded setting sits at the base of Buffalo Mountain known for many awesome hikes. It is right on the The Summit Stage bus route that services the Summit County area, which gives people the opportunity and convenience to access other parts of the county. Wildernest close proximity to I-70 is ideal for those looking for a central “home base” to visit four ski areas in the county, being about 20 minutes from Keystone and Copper Mountain, and 25 minutes from Arapahoe Basin and Breckenridge.

What happend this week in Summit County Real Estate?

August Summit Scoop

August Newsletter:

Well July turned out to be a beautiful month, both for the weather and the fact that real estate activity is still on the rise. We're seeing a lot more real interest from buyers, and sellers are starting to get more motivated as well. As of August 6th there have been 50 properties marked Pending in the last 14 days - 25% more than this time last month and an encouraging statistic. Another tidbit - July had a record high number of cars traveling through the tunnel at over 1.2M, or over 38,000 per day! Summit County remains busy and it is a great buyer's market at the moment, with lots of choices and great deals. Click on link to view remainder of newsletter.
